An adventure, where you learn by doing.
This course guides you to connect with the nature on your doorstep, through a series of enchanting sensory activities.
You won't learn about connecting with nature. Instead, you'll see, hear, touch and smell in fresh and intriguing ways, while developing your own direct and personal relationship with the natural world.
You will have fun, benefit your health and wellbeing, and appreciate the beauty of the nature where you live with new eyes, supported by your global cohort of classmates, and your course guide Jan.
By the end, you will be a confident Forest Bather, with the ability to sink into your calm relaxed 'forest mind' at will, and have the skills and experience you need to continue practising this delightful art for the rest of your life.
"Forest Bathing has given me a wonderful new dimension to my life!"

What is Forest Bathing?
Forest Bathing is a modern take on the ancient Japanese art of Shinrin Yoku. It's active mindfulness - slowing down to explore nature through our physical senses.
Current research reveals it's remarkably beneficial for both the mind and the body. It's taking off worldwide as a powerful tool to reduce stress, improve our mental and physical health and rediscover a sense of ease, connection and belonging.
It also has a lot to offer our ability to learn and be creative, as it develops our full range of human intelligences, while resting our busy analytical mind. Many people are now learning the skills to enhance their work.
Whichever benefits you are seeking, it is a charming playful practice, which many people find life-changing. It's been described as a key to another fascinating world.
"It's such an insight and refreshing, to see things in a new way, like borrowing a pair of glasses, or someone else's brain!"

Your course guide, Jan
Jan creates interactive online courses, guiding participants into connecting with the nature in their neighbourhood through simple enjoyable activities.
She began working with city children in the 1980s, taking them into the woods to meet, and come to love, the natural world.
Today she combines her experience in healthcare, with her love and care for people, nature, and our beautiful planet, by creating practical online courses. When we connect with nature, we fall in love, and what we love we protect.
Her vision is that all people have the opportunity to develop a direct personal relationship with their local nature, and she welcomes collaboration with people in other fields of work.
She lives in the UK, and when she is not working as therapist or course creator, she is often to be found in her vegetable garden, walking, cooking world food, or making willow baskets.
"Jan's passion for forest bathing and sharing this with participants is so obvious, yet is delivered in such a way that you always feel you have something to contribute."
